Excise duty in PO – Condition based pricing procedure

In SAP we have two types of Excise determination TAXINN and TAXINJ.

TAXINN is only supports condition-based excise determination, whereas TAXINJ support Formula based excise determination. Here I will explain condition based excise determination.

Step-1

Creating Condition Records for Excise Duty.

1. In the command field, enter FV11 and choose the conditions for Excisable and Non Excisable plant as mentioned under:

Excisable Plant:

JMOP – Excise Duty (12.5%)
JMX1 – Setoff for Excise duty (100%)
JEC1 – Ecess (2%)
JEX1 – Setoff for Ecess (100%)
JSEP – S&HEcess (1%)
JHX1 – Setoff for S&HEcess (100%)

Non Excisable Plant:

JMIP – Excise Duty (12.5%)
JMX2 – Setoff for Excise duty (100%)
JEC2 – Ecess (2%)
JEX2 – Setoff for Ecess (100%)
JSEI – S&HEcess (1%)
JHX2 – Setoff for S&HEcess (100%)

You need to be maintained these records as per your requirement.

Enter the condition type that you want to create a condition record for and choose the Key Combination dialog box appears.

3. Select the combination of objects that you want to create the condition record for. On the dialog box, Control Code means "chapter ID." So, for example, to create a condition record for a tax that applies to a combination of Plant, Control Code and Vendor, choose second option.

4. Save the condition record with validity period.

To edit the condition record you need to use the Tcode FV12 and to display the same FV13.

Step-2.

Maintain CIN details of Vendor in Vendor master CIN button or in J1ID, choose ‘Vendor Excise Detail’.

Step-3.

Maintain Chapter ID in Material Master in ‘Foreign Trade Import’ tab as mentioned below.

In Material type you can define the type of the material i.e. Raw Material, Assets, Consumable or Non Excisable. This type will help you to determine the modvat percentage i.e. 100% credit in the same year or 50% credit taken in the same year and 50% in subsequent year. As well as define the output material.

Material and Chapter ID combination can be defined through J1ID in ‘Material and Chapter ID combination’ and output material can be defined in ‘Cenvat Determination’ option.
